# 36. A GRADE LAPIS LAZULI ROSARY

8mm A grade Lapis Lazuli (deep, rich cobalt blue with a touch of golden Pyrite, very miniscule Calcite) with 10mm Lapis Lazuli (instead of the discontinued dichroic glass shown), capped in hand made Sterling Silver, tipped with smaller Lapis Lazuli. The 2" IHS Crucifix and 3/4" Miraculous Medal Escutchen center are die struck sterling silver, satin finished with laser engraved highlights. All wire, chain and findings are also Sterling Silver.

NOTE; Lapis Lazuli is a complex stone composed of 3 minerals: Lazurite (Royal to Navy blue), Pyrite (also known as "fool's gold"), and Calcite (usually white but may be yellow or gray). The proportion of these three minerals is part of what determines it's quality. Lazurite should be predominant and while large areas of Calcite or Pyrite detract from its value, small flecks or veins, particularly of Pyrite, often enhance its value. Since ancient times, Lapis Lazuli has been the stone of Royalty, perhaps best known for its use in the funeral mask of Egyptian Pharoah Tutahnkamun, it was also described as part of the breastplate of Aaron in the Old Testament. Lapis Lazuli is a recognized birthstone for both September and December.

7-7.5mm Garnets - deepest burgundy red - with 9mm Garnets capped in exquisitely detailed Bali Silver, with "button" Pearls enclosed in Bali daisy spacers on the ends of the caps, and 4mm Garnet accents on the connectors. The 2 3/8" Deluxe Floral crucifix and 1" Ribbon Edged Miraculous center are die struck sterling silver, satin finished with laser engraved highlights. All spacer beads and findings are also Sterling Silver. Garnet is a recognized birthstone for January.
